ARAMCO, one of the world’s leading energy companies, undertook a large-scale HVAC assessment across its Juaymah and Ras Tanura refineries in Saudi Arabia. FREE energy, in collaboration with its local partner Zamil O&M (ZOMCO), contributed to the project by evaluating the performance of all HVAC units serving offices, electrical rooms, petrol rooms, and other critical spaces within the facilities.
The assessment combined on-site inspections with detailed monitoring using data loggers to measure unit performance and consumption patterns. Results were tabulated to establish a baseline for comparison, providing a clear picture of system efficiency. Findings showed that the vast majority of HVAC units were operating inefficiently, with close to 90% requiring replacement.
In addition to identifying inefficiencies, the study provided ARAMCO with a technical assessment report and a roadmap for phased replacement, supporting future investments in higher-efficiency systems. Beyond energy savings, the project contributes to operational resilience, improved safety conditions, and enhanced indoor comfort across critical refinery environments.
